Visiting Machine Knitting ~ Thank you Marlene

The July 12th meeting of our guild was fun and informative.  Marlene covered quite a bit of information on knitting machines.  What can be done on a totally manual machine, the difference between a punchcard driven machine and a computer driven machine and the advantages and disadvantages of all of them.  She also confessed she may be adding to her rapidly growing collection again soon.  I also enjoyed watching the link posted after the meeting  that featured Mariette Harley in a 1990’s “infomercial”  for a knitting machine.

We had some door prize drawings.  I have to confess I wasn’t right on the ball with the photos,  but I am working up to it.  Kathi donated a skein of some green/blue  handspun BFL.  Kaleen donated a a nice gradient colored scarf kit.  Congrats to the winners.

And of course we had our Show and Tell:

There were a few folks missing this month mostly due to traveling for family vacations.  You were missed.  I know you are having a great time.  Hope to see you next month.   We will be learning about Brioche knitting.  Next meeting date is August 9th.
